Viet Salad


Julienne-peeled (or cut)…

  • pickled carrots (and daikon?) (aka: dou chua)
  • cucumber
  • green apple
  • green mango
  • green papaya


Toss with crushed peanuts, bbq shrimp, and some fish sauce and salt to taste, then serve.


“So in 2010 there was this place in Buford called Noodle Mi ran by this Vietnamese family; Patrick, his partner and his old mom cooking. Best fucking Phó place we’ve ever been to. Broke my heart when they had to close down, but years later I bump into his boyfriend at the DMV and we found Patrick again working at a place in John’s Creek. This was a salad he brought out to us as a ‘thank-you’, for finding him.”
